I just got a call from my parents. Andrew made it through surgery. The doctors clipped his aneurysm and replaced his skull flap (Cranioplasty). Andrew went in at about 4:30 p.m. (Indiana time) and got out at about 9:00 p.m. The surgery lasted about 5 hours with no complications.
Andrew is now being transferred back into ICU (his old floor for 28 days). He will be there for about two days to recover. They will be doing another Angiogram tomorrow to make sure everything went okay with the surgery. After a couple of days, they will transfer him back to the Critical Unit where he will continue his recovery and PT/OT therapy.
Mom and Dad did get to see him today before and while they were prepping him for surgery. We haven’t got to celebrate with Andrew on his birthday in a couple of years, at least they were with him on this one. Happy 25th Birthday Andrew! Hopefully your next one will be a lot better and definitely more fun!
