Jen, Mya, and I made it to CA with no problems!  We had a fully packed day and are all exhausted.  It’s great seeing Mom, Dad, and Andrew again. Their apartment is very cute and all decorated for Christmas.  Tonight they opened about four boxes from family and friends.  Let me tell you…we have cookies galore!  We are so excited to be here to enjoy them!  Thanks to all of our friends and family who continue to send these wonderful gifts to my parents and Andrew.  They are not necessary, but we are all very grateful and appreciative of  everything you do!

Now for Andrew’s update:  Andrew was released from ICU this afternoon and put back into the rehabilitation center of the facility.  We are all very excited that he is back where he will be getting his therapies again and on the road to recovery.  He lucked out and got his old room, so I am sure it feels just like home.  I helped put his clothes away and put stick on Christmas decorations on his closet doors.  Mom brought back the little Christmas tree for his nightstand and now it feels a little more like the holiday season.  Andrew even got a new bed out of the deal that is longer and fits him better.

As for his seizure, he did not have anymore since Sunday’s incident.  The EEG showed some troublesome areas on both sides of his brain (kind of like crossed electrical wires).  The doctor decided to give him Keppra to control any chance of another seizure.  He must stay on this medicine for two years and then they will reevaluate him again to go from there.

Andrew is still getting sick.  Yesterday he did not get sick and we thought maybe they had something with the mineral oil, but his afternoon he got sick again.  The doctors are still looking into it and are trying to figure what is making him sick daily.  The GI and Ear, Nose, Throat doctors have not come yet to examine Andrew.  They will be probably be coming at the beginning of next week due to the holidays.

Today was a much better day for my parents.  They were happy to see their girls, but even happier Andrew was moved out of ICU.  It worked out nice for us as well, we never even saw him in the ICU room.

Andrew enjoyed a small BK vanilla milkshake and a combination of two dinners (since he moved places – they were confused on what he ordered).  He ate those without getting sick, watched TV, saw his friend Amy, and then drifted in and out of sleep.  Hopefully tomorrow will be an even better day!
