Andrew has been doing okay these past few days. We’re pretty sure he is not feeling well. Yesterday he skipped his lunch and only ate half of his supper. He was more tired yesterday than the days before.
Today Andrew ate a big breakfast and then the therapists had Andrew practice getting in and out of his car. The therapist and mom thought it would be real hard for him, but apparently they were both shocked because he just popped his left side in right away. It must be something he remembers doing – since it came so easily to him. They just had to help with his right side. After practicing getting in and out of the car, they all walked to my parents apartment. The therapists had some suggestions, but overall thought that the apartment would be great and accommodate his needs very well. They stayed about an hour. Andrew did not seem thrilled, but after living in the hospital for 3 months I am sure he is a little nervous. Plus after living on your own for six years, it’s hard to go back to living with your parents (sorry mom and dad). But I am sure they all will be fine!
Aunt Gail, Uncle Bob, and Aunt Shy said goodbye to Andrew today as he arrived at the apartment. They are headed back to AZ. Shy will be returning to IN on Friday.
Andrew ate his lunch for about five minutes and then got sick again. Luckily the doctors were around, so they are still trying to figure out what is causing him to get sick. They are now thinking of rescheduling that appointment that keeps getting cancelled with the ENT doctors.
Andrew has had therapy these past few days and is still improving each day. He even picked out his own outfit today for the nurse. As of right now, his expected date to leave Rancho and move into the apartment is January 15th.
