Andrew had another wonderful day! My parents said he has been more alert since his surgery yesterday. His eyes are fully open and he is looking around more and tracking people better. Today he was scheduled for an angio-gram to see if the surgery was a success. His angio-gram showed that everything went well from his surgery. The doctors said his angio-gram looked great! Beautiful news to our ears!
My parents read more birthday cards to him. He even held them and looked at them. Of course, not totally focused and how much he understood – we are not sure, but it’s still something.
Mom said that yesterday she handed him a good luck coin and told him to hold onto it and he held it between his two fingers for about five minutes. That is exciting news because that means his fine motor skills are working in his left hand. Another major step in his recovery.
Our family is very excited about the progress he is making. We are very encouraged by the doctors positive words. My Dad told me on the phone tonight that “Andrew is definitely there….even like this….it is Andrew.” Wow! Doesn’t that statement make you feel good about my brother’s recovery!? I just wish I could be there and see him again. I still have faith that God has some wonderful plans for Andrew. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. But with a great support group of people praying and believing in him, I know he can make it through this hard journey. Thank you!
