Andrew has been doing pretty well these past few days. He has been more alert and working a lot harder during his therapies. They are constantly working on teaching him basic life skills like brushing his teeth, washing his face, etc. He seems to remember how to do a lot of the basic things, which is great news!
Andrew did get a roommate the other day. His roommate has full mobility, but also has a trache and does not speak.
Mom and Dad are doing well. Most of the time they are staying in their little apartment on campus to be close to Andrew. They are getting out a little more, by going to the laundromat, or going to Target for something.
Andrew did have a little accident last night. The hospital called my parents real early in the morning (like 3 a.m.) to come immediately. Apparently, Andrew fell out of his bed. In the process, he hit head on the corner of the dresser and put a gash in his head. They found him on the floor with a small pool of blood around him. My parents gave them the okay to stitch it up…so now he has stitches on his forehead and will probably have a black eye. Mom stayed with him this morning, while Dad went back to get some more rest. When my Dad called, he was switching places with my Mom. They just need to keep an eye on him, since he can’t tell us what hurts. We are hoping he doesn’t have a concussion. Oh, Andrew….he just keeps trying to escape! Hopefully he will fight the feeling to flee and get better!
