Today they took the bandage off of Andrew’s head. They replaced it with a stocking cap and said that his head would heal within 7-14 days. My parents are constantly having to push his hand away from his head because he keeps wanting to scratch and feel up there. The doctors don’t want him messing with his head where the stitches are.
Andrew is only connected to three tubes now. He has the air for the trachea, his food tube that goes into his stomach, and one IV that gives him nutrients and vitamins.
My parents thought that he seemed less alert today and looks like he doesn’t feel well. Since he is not connected to any wires that measure his vitals, they are not sure how he is really doing. But of course, we all have days where we just don’t feel that well and are less active and this must be one of those days for Andrew.
My parents are moving into the studio above the garage tonight. They have their car all packed and are ready for a change in atmosphere from the hotel. They are doing well and can’t wait til Andrew can leave the hospital and be in a rehabilitation center closer to their new studio apartment.
