Andrew is still improving each day. My parents have said that he has been in good spirits these past few days. He is more alert and doing a little bit more talking. He did get sick yesterday at lunch, but hasn’t gotten sick since.
Tomorrow will start a full week of therapy without any holiday interruptions. He usually seems to do better on the days he has therapy. Yesterday when he had physical therapy my Dad asked if he had walked a lot and he replied “about half.”
He’s also been finishing parts of songs. My Dad has been singing Christmas carols and stopping to let my brother fill in the blank. He’s been getting them all right. When my Mom sang with him, he said a whole line. Today they called my Aunt Doris and sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game.” He filled in all the missing parts.
The weather has been beautiful out in CA. It’s been in the 80’s so they have been taking Andrew on a couple of walks each day. My Aunt Shy, Aunt Gail, and Uncle Bob are visiting them right now. This will be my Aunt Shy’s first time seeing him since Labor Day weekend.
Andrew will be visiting my parents apartment on Tueday with his therapists to see if anything needs to be moved for when he gets out of Rancho. My parents are hoping that the Ear, Nose, Throat doctor will still come to check Andrew out this week – to check his equilibrium – since he is still getting sick. I’ll be keeping you posted.
