Andrew had a good day today. He sat up in his hospital chair for about 3 hours today. My Dad says he hates wearing that helmet…he tries to take it off! Who could blame him!? Luckily, he probably won’t have to wear it much longer since they are planning on replacing his skull piece after this next surgery.
His physical and occupational therapy went well today. They are still working on teaching him how to swallow. They also worked on tracking with his eyes. He could track things for about 5 minutes, which is pretty good considering all he’s been through. Plus, if it were you…would you want to track something longer with your eyes? Poor Andrew…must be pretty boring. But he is making progress and that is all that counts!
Other than that, he’s still sleeping half the day and awake the other half. I bet you can guess when he likes to be awake…at night. No surprise there! My Dad said it’s too bad the therapists don’t come in the evening, because that’s when he’s really awake. He is still wanting to sleep when they come in at 10:00 a.m. to do therapy. Sounds like most of us Davis’s!
