Unfortunately, some bad news today!  Andrew woke up this morning, had his breakfast, threw it all up, and started having a seizure.  His seizure lasted 2 minutes, which is very long for seizures.  The medical staff decided to move him back to the Critical Unit today to determine what is going on with him.

My parents got the information as they were eating brunch with my Grandma and Aunt Jane.  They had to clean out all of his stuff in his room and put it in their car.  That alone was very sad, because my Mom just decorated it for Christmas.  He has been moved to a different building at Rancho on the 2nd floor.  My parents had to fill out his paperwork all over again.  For some reason, they wouldn’t transfer his information over to the new building.

Good news is Andrew’s CT scan from yesterday was reviewed by two doctors and showed up normal.  They didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

In the Critical Unit, Andrew is being hooked up to Oxygen through his nose, an IV, and put on a sedative.  The doctors were drawing his blood to do tests as I spoke to my Mom tonight.  Another CT scan was given to double check his head.  They will be doing several more tests to see if they can figure out what is causing the throwing up and his seizure.

A GI (Gastro-Intestinal) doctor came and checked out Andrew.  He did not think anything that was going on had to do with his stomach.  Andrew did sleep most of the day, due to all of the trauma and sedation.  When he woke up, they did feed him his regular dinner.  The doctors wanted to feed him through his stomach tube, but my parents refused.  Andrew ate his food just fine and ate all of it!

They are planning on having an Ear, Nose, Throat doctor come in and check out Andrew to see if something is off with his balance.  My parents think he might be getting sick due to Vertigo.  As for his seizure, we are not sure why he had one.  This is the only one he has had since his original seizure caused by the ruptured aneurysm.

Mom and Dad are of course disappointed and upset by the setback, but they say Andrew is doing pretty well considering.  The doctors say he could be in the Critical Unit anywhere from 2-3 days to two weeks.  I will keep you posted on anything I hear.

Please continue the prayers!  We are hoping this will not be a major setback for him.
