Just finished talking to Mom and Dad and Andrew is still doing great!.  He now will take walks with my parents holding his left hand and left arm.  My parents are no longer having to keep him steady from holding onto the back of his pants.  Andrew walked like this to Burger King (about a block) to get a milkshake this weekend.  He even crossed a major street to get there!  Mom said he is getting much stronger with his walking every day.

Andrew has even ventured out to an Italian restaurant for dinner with Mom, Dad, and Al, where he … Continue Reading

Andrew has been doing amazingly well this past week.  He has been working hard in his therapies and is still making gains each day.  Mom and Dad’s practice apartment with Andrew Wednesday went very well.  Mom and Dad were on the second floor of the hospital getting their stuff put away for the night in the apartment, while Andrew was in physical therapy.  All of the sudden there was a knock on their door.  Mom went to answer it and it was Andrew with his physical therapist, Alice.  Mom was shocked they were there.  She asked them if they took the … Continue Reading

My whole family would like to give a big thank you to all who have donated and/or attended the benefit held in my brother’s honor at Turners.  Your love and support has really helped us get through this tragedy.  We never expected a benefit to take place and are very grateful for our Turner family who put it all together.  The Turner benefit Saturday night was a huge success.  We were amazed at how many of our friends and family (co-workers included) came to show their support.  If only my brother and Dad could have attended.  We shared the night’s … Continue Reading

Andrew has been doing okay these past few days.  We’re pretty sure he is not feeling well.  Yesterday he skipped his lunch and only ate half of his supper.  He was more tired yesterday than the days before.

Today Andrew ate a big breakfast and then the therapists had Andrew practice getting in and out of his car.  The therapist and mom thought it would be real hard for him, but apparently they were both shocked because he just popped his left side in right away.  It must be something he remembers doing – since it came so easily to him.  … Continue Reading

Andrew is still improving each day.  My parents have said that he has been in good spirits these past few days.  He is more alert and doing a little bit more talking.  He did get sick yesterday at lunch, but hasn’t gotten sick since.

Tomorrow will start a full week of therapy without any holiday interruptions.  He usually seems to do better on the days he has therapy.  Yesterday when he had physical therapy my Dad asked if he had walked a lot and he replied “about half.”

He’s also been finishing parts of songs.  My Dad has been singing Christmas carols … Continue Reading
