It was another good day for Andrew. He is definitely improving each day and I think gathering more energy and motivation from being around loved ones. Teddy and Dad got to the rehabilitation center this morning during Andrew’s physical therapy. They walked in to find Andrew practicing walking with his physical therapist. Andrew had his left side near the wall. He was holding onto the railing and moving his left leg while his therapist helped move his right. Andrew worked really hard today. My Dad and Teddy said that he walked a lot … Continue Reading

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Jen, Mya, and I are now in California visiting Andrew and our parents. We all survived the flight out here. Mya, who is almost 10 months, did especially well for her first time on an airplane. Yesterday we rented a car and drove to Andrew’s new home, Rancho Los Amigos. Luckily Andrew was finished with his therapy for the day, so my parents brought him out in his wheel chair to meet us. It was very exciting to see his eyes open and him … Continue Reading

Andrew’s had a very busy day today. He starts his day off with his occupational therapist who helps him get ready in the morning. Andrew did get his left foot in his shoe on his own today. The occupational therapist helps with brushing his teeth, washing his face, and his personal hygiene regimens.

He then goes into his physical therapy. His physical therapist had him stand up 10 times today, walk using the harness, and even introduced the treadmill today. At this point, Andrew was very exhausted. My Mom said she did see him move … Continue Reading

Andrew made it through the day fine, even from his fall. He’s been busy today with his therapists. His speech therapist has been continuing to work on different communication skills. He is getting rewarded with applesauce and pudding, which he really likes! My parents said he is definitely ready to eat some real food! We don’t know when that will be, but they can tell he is looking forward to it.

During his physical therapy today, Andrew was put in a harness and practiced walking down a little walkway. My Dad said by … Continue Reading

Andrew has been doing pretty well these past few days. He has been more alert and working a lot harder during his therapies. They are constantly working on teaching him basic life skills like brushing his teeth, washing his face, etc. He seems to remember how to do a lot of the basic things, which is great news!

Andrew did get a roommate the other day. His roommate has full mobility, but also has a trache and does not speak.

Mom and Dad are doing well. Most of the time they are staying in their little … Continue Reading
